Our Employment Law advisers are dedicated to helping employers and both international and domestic companies become more pro-active in employment law related matters, so as to prevent legal problems before they arise. We provide counseling on developing and drafting employment agreements for staff and employment contracts for CEOs, employee handbooks, executive termination agreements, employee benefit plans, personnel policies, and collective agreements, as well as handling dispute resolution and trade union matters.
Our Employment Law capabilities in Kyiv include conducting employment law audits, plant closings, mass layoffs, reductions in force, internal corporate investigations, and due diligence reviews of employment law liabilities in corporate acquisitions. We have also advised on wage and hour issues, employee privacy rights, employment-related tax issues, family and medical leave matters, terminations, leaves of absence policies, workers’ compensation, safeguarding trade secrets and intellectual property, insurance coverage for employment law claims, alternative dispute resolution mechanisms for resolving employee grievances and legal claims, and compliance – both the detection and the prevention of violations of the labor law by employers.
Our Migration Law practice involves providing advice on tax, compensation, benefits, employment, and other issues, as well as providing solutions attendant to the transfer of executives and other personnel from other countries to Ukraine. We help corporate client employers obtain work permits and work visas for their non-Ukrainian managers and office employees.
Our Employment & Migration Practice Group works closely with the Firm’s other Employment Law teams throughout Europe. We also form part of the worldwide Baker & McKenzie Global Labor Law and Employee Benefits Group.
