Markus Affentranger has more than 20 years of experience working on banking and finance matters, with emphasis on acquisition finance and syndicated loans. He previously worked as in-house counsel at Credit Suisse before joining the Firm in 1992. He is highly regarded by Legal 500, and has been specifically singled out for praise by IFLR 1000. Mr. Affentranger serves as lecturer on acquisition finance at the University of Fribourg and on bank contracts at the Swiss Training Centre for Investment Professionals.

Mr. Affentranger handles domestic and international debt finance transactions, with a focus on acquisition finance — including real estate acquisition finance — and syndicated loans. • Advised a syndicate of Swiss banks on a CHF 1'000 million. acquisition credit facility for the largest Swiss electricity company to finance an asset purchase.
• Advised a syndicate of Swiss and foreign banks on a CHF 1'600 million. syndicated credit facility for one of Switzerland’s largest retail companies to acquire shares in a joint venture.
• Advised UBS and a syndicate of banks on a USD340 million borrowing base facility for a large cotton trader.
