The Antitrust Group in the Tokyo office is one of the largest in Japan. Working together with anti-monopoly and cartel professionals from our global network, we assist clients with a range of antitrust and competition matters. Our services include provision of support in domestic and international cartel matters; conducting/instructing of corporate internal investigations in and outside of Japan; dealing with investigations/onsite inspections by the Fair Trade Commission and relevant governmental agencies outside of Japan; giving advice or preparing relevant documents in response to relevant corporate merger control regulations governing M&A or group reorganizations (i.e HSR filings); IP-related antitrust matters (patents/know-how/licensing etc.); dealing with Fair Trade Commission investigations (first and second requests); dealing with civil/criminal proceedings; and compliance with antitrust laws and regulations in various countries, including the new Anti-Monopoly Law in China.
