Proposed central depositary in Russia
On December 7, 2011, the Russian President signed into Federal Law No. 414-FZ “On the Central Depositary” and Federal Law No. 415-FZ “On Introduction of Amendments into Russian Legislative Acts in Connection with the Adoption of the Federal Law on the Central Depositary.” The laws are to allow for the long-planned establishment of a central depositary in Russia, and also extends the abilities for cooperation among Russian and foreign depositaries.
