Yumi Watanabe is a member of the Firm’s Corporate Group in the Tokyo office and has over ten years of legal experience working in Japan. She has significant experience in the areas of corporate restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, e-commerce and other corporate and commercial matters. Ms. Watanabe authored and co-authored several publications related to her field, namely “M&A Handbook on Conducting Business Practically” and “Global Privacy Handbook 2010,” among others. From 2006 to 2007, she was a member of the Corporate & Securities Practice Group in Baker & McKenzie’s Chicago office, where her work involved cross-border mergers and acquisitions, private equity, and other international commercial transactions.

Ms. Watanabe advises on corporate restructuring, domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate spin-offs and other general corporate and commercial matters, with an emphasis on the IT/C industry. Her practice also covers e-commerce, privacy protection and employment.
