The Internal Revenue Service, together with the Department of Treasury, issued Notice 2015-66 (the Notice) which intends to amend the regulations under FATCA to extend various transitional rules. The intended amendments provides relief for financial institutions from impending deadlines and allows them to rely on the Notice until the regulations are amended.
