Competition law compliance is becoming increasingly complex in Ukraine, as new legislation requires merger notification, introduces mechanisms for private antitrust enforcement, and criminalizes cartel activity.
Our Competition Law Practice Group has advised on the competition law aspects of a large number of the IPOs and private placements held with the participation of Ukrainian companies. These include listings on the London Stock Exchange-Main Market, AIM, and the Warsaw Stock Exchange. In addition, we have accumulated extensive experience in clearing antitrust violations which have occurred in the process of the formation of groups (holdings) of companies in order to make them compliant with the Ukrainian antimonopoly law. Our competition lawyers have successfully negotiated with the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine regarding the reduction of fines for many of our clients. We have also developed valuable resources for conducting market reviews, which are increasingly demanded by the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine as an approval requirement.
We are listed among the top three competition law practices in Ukraine by “Ukrainian Law Firms: a Handbook for Foreign Clients 2009”.
