He is a member of the board of the Deutsch-Japanische Juristenvereinigung (German Japanese Lawyers Association) and is admitted to practice in Munich.

Dr. Henkel is highly experienced in M&A and private equity transactions. He has successfully assisted clients — including leading enterprises, financial investors and public authorities — in acquiring and selling large enterprises, as well as in restructuring transactions. He also focuses his practice on the corporate and tax restructuring of domestic and international enterprises.

- Represented Siemens AG in the sale of its German-based locomotive leasing subsidiary Dispolok GmbH to Mitsui Ltd.
- Represented the owners in the sale of German based IT-platform GULP group to Vedior.
- Represented Mahle GmbH in the participation in Behr GmbH & Co KG.
- Advised Serafin Privat Holding GmbH in the acquisition of Perga Plastic GmbH and in the acquisition of Teijin Monofilament Germany GmbH, a subsidiary of Teijin Ltd. Japan.
- Represented the Japan group Minebea Ltd. in the acquisition of the German based Myonic GmbH.
- Advised Veolia Transport as bidder in the auction process for the sale of Arriva Deutschland.
- Represented Siemens AG/ Osram GmbH in the acquisition of the German-based Siteco Lighting Group.
