Stephen Jones is a leading IP specialist with particular expertise in patents and trade marks. He has a degree in chemistry from Imperial College, London as well as a degree in law. Stephen is a solicitor-advocate in the English courts as well as a UK qualified patent attorney and European Patent Attorney admitted to practice before the European Patent Office. He is also a UK and European Trade Mark Attorney and an accredited mediator. He is a Fellow and Committee Member of the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys, a Council Member of the British Group of the AIPPI and an Associate of the Royal Society of Chemistry. Stephen is the editor of the CIPA Guide to the Patents Acts, the leading patent text book in the UK, a new edition of which was published in 2009.

Stephen is a partner in the Intellectual Property Department of Baker & McKenzie LLP, London. He has over thirty years' experience in the field and advises on a wide range of intellectual property matters including patents, trade marks, copyright and designs. He has a particular interest in intellectual property cases involving technical subject matter, and has been involved in patent litigation in the chemical, pharmaceutical, medical devices, electronics and engineering fields. Stephen is head of the Patents Group in Baker & McKenzie's London office and active in the Firm's Global patent practice, which offers coordinated patent advisory and litigation services through the Firm's network of offices around the world, and is a member of the firm's Pharmaceutical and Healthcare Practice Group. He is also the partner responsible for the London office's pro bono clients which include major charities, and lectures at various academic institutions as well as at conferences and seminars on intellectual property and related topics.
