Mr. Hammett is Chair of the Firm’s North American Compensation and Employment Law Practice Group, and a member of the Steering Committee for the Firm’s Global Labour, Employment, and Employee Benefits Practice Group. Mr. Hammett has served in the past as the Managing Partner of the Firm’s Houston Office and as a member of the Firm’s Policy Committee.
Practice Focus
Mr. Hammett counsels clients and handles litigation, including class actions, involving employment discrimination, corporate compliance, ERISA, wrongful discharge, trade secrets, non-competition agreements, whistleblowing, wage and hour standards, as well as other issues under state and federal law. Mr. Hammett's practice emphasizes labor policy planning and litigation relating to M&A, financial restructurings and bankruptcy, including the resolution of labor claims and restructuring of collective bargaining agreements. Mr. Hammett also represents clients in matters under the National Labor Relations Act, the Railway Labor Act, and in cases governed by OSHA.
