What others say

Baker & McKenzie was named by Euromoney as the Number 1 Global Law Firm for Real Estate in the 2012 Euromoney Real Estate Awards for the fourth year running.

Amendments to federal laws introduce simpler documentation requirements as well as a more specific classification of hazardous industrial facilities. These changes will take effect in June 2013 and January 2014.
ASIC has released final guidance for two key components of the Future of Financial Advice (FoFA) reforms - namely the Best Interests Duty and Scaled Advice guides. The introduction of these guides is intended to ensure retail clients receive reliable advice about financial products. The guides apply to service providers and aim to protect retail clients against conflicted or poor quality personal advice. The reforms will be mandatory from 1 July 2013 which means that all advisers will have to act in their clients’ best interests when providing advice and no adviser can put their own interests ahead of their clients' interests.
New rules coming into effect from 1 January 2015 will have a major impact on e-commerce services within the EU, as well as on providers of online billing and payment systems. These rules will go beyond simple VAT changes and will have a knock-on effect on a wide range of business issues, such as consumer protection, data privacy, corporate structuring and staff location.
