Philip von Mehren joined the New York office of Baker & McKenzie LLP as a partner in January 2007. Mr. von Mehren routinely handles cross-border acquisitions and dispositions — for strategic and financial buyers — including private equity and venture capital funds, often in a distressed situation. Mr. von Mehren has recently been appointed as a member of the advisory committee of the Firm's Global Restructuring Focus Group.

Represented SK Telecom USA Holdings, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of SK Telecom Co. Ltd., on the combination of its majority owned subsidiary, Helio LLC, with Virgin Mobile USA, LP in a stock-for-stock transaction, which also included SK Telecom agreeing to become a subordinated lender to Virgin Mobile.

Represented a public US-based phone company in the multi-billion dollar purchase of a non-US phone company.

Represented a US-based private equity fund in the LBO of a portfolio company in the machining industry with significant operations in the United States, France, Germany and Sweden.

Represented a US-based private equity funds in the purchase and sale of portfolio companies, including advice regarding acquisition by a holding company, created on behalf of financial buyers and managers, of a controlling interest in an oil and gas service corporation based in Houston, Texas.

Represented a private equity fund in LBO transaction acquiring an extruder company with US and foreign operations.
