We have extensive experience in negotiating and documenting all aspects of domestic and foreign loan transactions, security structures, credit support and enhancement facilities, and derivatives transactions. We have also acted as counsel for developers as well as lenders in several major power, infrastructure, telecommunications and other project finance transactions in the Philippines.
We have a core team dedicated to the insurance practice. We have advised and represented various industry leading insurance companies — including US, Canadian, European and Japanese insurers, sureties and intermediaries — in all aspects of insurance and reinsurance transactional and regulatory matters, including licensing, bancassurance, demutualization, insurance related loan and investment transactions, insolvencies, dissolutions, insurer formations, financing and operations. In particular, we have advised and represented foreign insurers, sureties and intermediaries on non-contentious regulatory insurance issues, including the licensing of their local presence in the Philippines, solvency requirements and other regulatory issues relating to compliance with the Philippine Insurance Code and its implementing regulations.
