Michael Van Acker is a member of the Firm's Banking and Finance Practice Group. He joined Baker & McKenzie in 2004 and became a partner in 2010. Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Van Acker worked as an associate for a leading international law firm. Mr. Van Acker was admitted to the Antwerp Bar in 2000 and to the Brussels Bar in 2002.
Practice Focus
Mr. Van Acker has a broad background in international finance, with a particular focus on syndicated loans, acquisition finance, project finance and asset finance. He is also seasoned in advising on financial restructurings. Mr. Van Acker has represented a wide range of lenders, sponsors and borrowers on domestic and cross-border transactions involving major projects, leveraged buy-outs and asset leasing, among others.
