Len Terr heads the Firm's North America Tax Practice Group Management Committee. He is consistently recognized as one of the foremost tax advisers by Chambers Global, Euromoney Legal Group's Guide to the World’s Leading Attorneys International Tax Review and International Who's Who of Corporate Tax Lawyers, among others. Before joining Baker & McKenzie’s Washington, DC office, he served as international tax counsel of the US Treasury Department. Mr. Terr has led the Washington International Tax Study Group since 1990, and is currently an adjunct professor of international tax law at the Georgetown University Law Center.
Practice Focus
Mr. Terr frequently advises industry clients — including those in the automobile, aerospace, consumer products, and electronics industries — on planning, obtaining rulings on and implementing multi-country restructurings and M&A transactions. He is experienced in handling divestitures and joint ventures, global supply chain and business model reorganizations, post-merger integration and other international matters. He also helps secure bilateral and multilateral advance pricing agreements, and interacts with tax treaty negotiators on behalf of companies and industry groups. In addition, Mr. Terr is seasoned in matters relating to international tax regulations, tax case settlements and tax controversies involving various international jurisdictions.
