Kristy Balkwill is a member of the Baker & McKenzie Toronto office’s Tax Group. She effectively handles matters related to tax law, including tax litigation, general tax planning and global wealth management. Ms. Balkwill was admitted as a barrister and solicitor to the Law Society of Upper Canada in 2007. She obtained her LL.B. from Queen's Law in 2006 and her LL.M. (Tax) from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2009.

Ms. Balkwill regularly helps Canadian and multinational corporations with tax planning strategies and tax litigation. She also works with high net worth individuals on global wealth management structures, and has comprehensive experience assisting clients in cross-border tax litigation, voluntary disclosures and international tax planning and structuring. Ms. Balkwill has likewise assisted in international trust structuring, global mergers, international asset and share acquisitions, as well as various types and levels of audits by the Canada Revenue Agency.
