Jorge Álvarez joined the Firm’s Santiago office as an associate in 2011. He graduated from the Catholic University of Chile Law School in 2010. Mr. Álvarez earned the highest evaluation from the Republic of Chile for his postgraduate public internship service.

Practice Focus

Mr. Álvarez handles a broad range of corporate transactions and gives general corporate advice to Chilean and international companies, including mergers and acquisitions, foreign investment, partnership, civil and contractual matters, consumer protection, securities, insurance and telecommunications.

Representative Legal Matters

• Advised Ingersoll Rand on the sale of its Husmann business in Chile.
• Advised Viña Concha y Toro, one of Chile’s major wine producers, on the incorporation of two new subsidiaries abroad.
• Assisted Itap Bemis Ltda, a Brazilian Bemis Group subsidiary, in relation to the capital increase of its Chilean subsidiary.
