Joachim Fröhlich LL.M.
Biography
Joachim Fröhlich was admitted to the German bar in August 2005 and joined the Commercial, Tech & Transactions practice group of Baker McKenzie in Munich, Germany in March 2007. He was seconded to the legal department of Siemens AG in 2009 and to the legal department of Amazon in 2013 and 2016. In 2010, he worked at Baker McKenzie’s office in Frankfurt. He earned a Master in Law at the University of Cape Town, South Africa, with an emphasis on commercial law in 2006. Joachim studied law at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich, from where he graduated in 2003. He routinely publishes on distribution law issues. Furthermore, he is a co-author of the legal commentary Flohr/Wauschkuhn on all aspects of distribution law published by the leading German legal publishing house C. H. Beck.
Practice Focus
Joachim advises clients on all aspects of general commercial law, contract law and distribution law, competition law, logistics and transportation and private international law. He particularly drafts, advises on and negotiates commercial contracts, such as contracts with sales intermediaries (e.g. sales agents, distributors, franchisees), logistics services and transportation contracts, purchase, supply and services contracts and manufacturing agreements, often having cross-border implications. Joachim is also seasoned on German law on standard terms and conditions. Additionally, Joachim assists clients in the reorganization of their distribution system.

- Advised and represented Roche Diagnostics in the conclusion of a major logistics agreement.
- Advised and represented a retailer in the conclusion of a multi-billion transportation contract.
- Advised and represented a mobility service provider in the conclusion of contracts for the import and subsequent resale of Chinese electric vehicles to a globally operating courier service provider.
- Advised and represented a global industrial client on a strategic IT outsourcing project with multiple prospective vendors.
- Advised and represented an international robotics company in its worldwide development and contract manufacturing partnership with a multinational tech investment company.
