Jennifer Wioncek works in Firm’s Tax Practice Group. She practices mainly in the area of global wealth management, with emphasis on trust and estate planning. Ms. Wioncek is a frequent author and lecturer on tax-related topics. She was the principal author of comments submitted to the Internal Revenue Service on behalf of the Florida Bar Tax Section on proposed Treasury Regulations providing guidance under section 2642(g)(1). She is a three-time recipient of the Florida Bar Tax Section’s Chair's Special Merit Award and is recognized as a Rising Star by Florida Super Lawyers. Ms. Wioncek is active in her community. She regularly volunteers for Legal Lines and Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program and is an adjunct professor at the University of Miami School of Law Tax LLM program. She is currently teaching the 2013 Spring Semester class entitled, “Federal Taxation of Trusts and Estates” and in the past taught classes, “Planning with Trusts (Part I) – Grantor Trusts.”
Practice Focus
Ms. Wioncek counsels clients on estate planning for individuals, including the preparation of wills, trusts and other documents to ensure the effective management and orderly transfer of clients’ property. She advises US and foreign clients with respect to US personal income, estate, gift and generation-skipping transfer tax matters, as well as on the special US rules affecting persons with connections to the US and other jurisdictions, including persons married to non-US citizens, US beneficiaries of foreign trusts and foreign persons owning US assets. Ms. Wioncek further counsels high net worth individuals with respect to pre-immigration planning and expatriation.
