Our Tokyo Intellectual Property and Information Technology Group (IP/IT) provides a full range of IP/IT-related services, including IP litigation centering on the infringement of various IP rights. These include patents, designs, trademarks, copyright, unfair competition and trade secret disputes. We are also active in the prosecution and management of proceedings related to trademark design applications and registrations, as well as technology transfers and other IP and IT acquisition, licensing and protection issues. Many members of our team are not only qualified to practice internationally, but also have previous experience in foreign jurisdictions and offer a unique service to global and domestic companies operating in both Japan and abroad.
Our group works closely with various Baker & McKenzie offices in the US, the UK, Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia to extend our services to clients globally, as an integrated unit capable of fulfilling our clients’ every need. We are experienced in handling IP matters for the US and European markets and frequently work with international counterparts to coordinate inbound and outbound work for our clients.
