Global Technology Agreements

Localized contracts are important sales tools. Streamlined, well structured and up-to-date form agreements and contract templates help contain contract administration efforts and costs. Our thorough understanding of domestic and international contract law and industry practices means we can deliver successful contracting solutions. We can assist in preparation, updating, localization and negotiation of global and domestic license service, distribution and other technology contracts, especially when you enter new jurisdictions; inherit business units, products and related contracts via a merger or acquisition; implement a new order process system; or change business models.

  • Review existing processes and contract terms in place
  • Identify potential for improvement
  • Reduce the overall number of contract templates and streamlining of the remaining forms
  • Help to develop policies and contract forms for use both domestically and internationally

The introduction of data retention laws for carriers and carriage service providers has been discussed between the Federal Government and the Australian telecommunications industry for more than 10 years. In the context of heightened concerns over national security associated with developments in the Middle East, the Federal Government has decided to act on this issue.

On 30 October 2014, the Federal Minister for Communications, Malcolm Turnbull introduced the Telecommunications Amendment Bill 2014 into the House of Representatives.

Our lawyers summarise Australian regulatory news for October 2014 to keep you informed of the latest regulatory developments affecting the telecommunications sector in Australia.
