Paul McNulty (Washington, DC) and
Robert Tarun (San Francisco) were named Corporate Compliance “Top Guns” in Ethisphere Institute’s first annual list of “Attorneys Who Matter.” The list recognizes more than 100 lawyers who have made exceptional contributions to the corporate compliance and has been described as representing the best and the brightest in the field.
Former Deputy Attorney General Paul McNulty is author of the “McNulty Memorandum,” a milestone statement on federal prosecution of business organizations which encourages companies to establish compliance programs. He offers strategic counsel for dealing with investigations and adoption of best practices for compliance with US regulations. Robert Tarun’s extensive experience involves conducting dozens of internal investigations for corporations, audit committees, board of directors and special committees in 35 countries.
The “Attorneys Who Matter” were determined by recognized expertise, peer/client endorsements, high-profile litigation, number of cases won, high-profile clients, public service, legal community engagement, academic involvement and other awards and recognitions. The 15 list categories include: Hall of Fame, Top Guns, Up-and-Comers, Government Stars, Top General Counsel and Top Ethics and Compliance Officers.
Baker & McKenzie is one of only two firms with more than one individual named in the top two categories, and the only Firm with two “Top Guns” listed.
“We congratulate Paul and Bob on this prestigious ranking,” said David Hackett, Chair of the North America Corporate Compliance practice. “The Ethisphere Institute’s recognition is testament to the Firm’s commitment to guiding our clients through the complex world of compliance, especially during these challenging times.”
