On 1 January 2010 the European VAT system for services will change. The change will be a drastic one that will affect many organizations doing business within the European Union.
The main change per January 1st 2010, will be a change of the place supply rules for VAT taxation. In situations where VAT on a service fee is due today in the country of the service provider, it will under the new system, be subject to VAT in the country of the recipient of that service.
