Daniel Jacobs joined the Firm in 2009, and is an associate in the Dispute Resolution and Insolvency team at Baker & McKenzie, Sydney. Daniel is currently working in the Dispute Resolution team but is also a financial services lawyer who advises clients on their obligations under the Corporations Act and ASIC Regulations. He drafts product disclosure statements (PDSs) and other disclosure documents for a variety of investment products, advises clients on the Future of Financial Advice reforms (FOFA) and other changes to the regulatory landscape, and assists clients in complying with their Australian Financial Services licensing (AFSL) obligations. He is a member of the Law Society of New South Wales.
Practice Focus
Daniel's experience includes drafting numerous PDSs for managed investment schemes (MISs) and short-form PDSs for simple MISs. He has assisted a variety of clients with AFSL applications and variations, including under the Carbon Farming Initiative. Daniel has also advised clients on the FOFA reforms and FOFA compliant compensation structures, on their ASIC compliance obligations and responding to ASIC queries.
