Our litigation group was created in 1985 to support practice groups within the Firm. We help analyze and evaluate potential litigation risks in the negotiation of contracts, implementation and execution of new corporate projects, and the ordinary course of business of companies that we serve. Today, we have what is considered one of the strongest litigation practices among major law firms in the country.
Our activities cover the most diverse procedures, both before the public administration and the judicial branch.
In public law, we assist in the handling of constitutional actions, i.e. tutela (action for the enforcement of fundamental constitutional rights), group and class actions, judges and specialized courts, as well as the processing of matters and legal remedies before national and local public authorities.
We have a proven track record and are highly recommended in alternative conflicts and resolutions such as settlement, amicable composition and arbitration.
We can also assist in the area of criminal law, with emphasis on mounting effective defense strategies for corporate clients, as well as advising on the definition of judicial actions and the investigations supporting them.
We are experienced in matters dealing with investigations for unfair competition acts, restrictive practices of free economic competition, consumer protection and all those issues related with the area of intellectual property, sanitary and environmental regulation.
Our Litigation practice has a successful history of handling disputes related with commercial agency, distribution, supply, insurance, transportation, and generally, disputes derived from contractual noncompliance.
