Construction in China

Our team offers a unique one-stop shop service to the construction industry — helping our clients navigate complicated issues that arise in project development in Hong Kong, China and across Asia Pacific. We are very familiar with the specialised law that applies to construction and engineering contracts, and the rules and procedures necessary to resolve disputes arising from such contracts. We also have extensive experience advising clients on the structuring, documentation and approval process for construction projects in the region.

A key strength of our practice is our ability to identify and mitigate risks at the outset through proper documentation and advice. Where disputes arise, we will help you devise and implement the right strategy to limit and manage the legal and commercial risks involved. Given our broad industry client base — including project sponsors and developers, contractors, sub-contractors, consultants, governments and public bodies — we are experienced in a broad range of issues and how to address them. Our experience spans numerous industry sectors, including residential, industrial complexes and commercial developments, road and rail infrastructure, oil and gas, and power and water.

It came to the conclusion that the benefit shall not be granted to the extent the rental income is derived from letting to tax pool members.
Our lawyers discuss ten things that businesses should know — and that their due diligence should focus on — when determining the true value of a serviced apartment hotel portfolio prior to acquisition.
The New South Wales Home Building Amendment Act 2011 introduces changes that apply to both current and future contracts, with implications for the liability of residential project developers.
