Anne Ka Tse Hung leads the Firm’s Major Projects group in Tokyo. She has extensive experience representing numerous clients in project and energy matters. She is listed as a recommended lawyer in many publications, including PLC Which Lawyer? and Chambers Asia, among others. Ms. Hung practiced in the Firm’s Sydney office prior to relocating to Japan in 1991.
Practice Focus
Ms. Hung’s practice focuses on the areas of mining, infrastructure and power project development. She represents well-known Japanese utilities, banks, mining, construction and trading companies in power, mining and other major projects. Her practice also covers project work, with an emphasis on oil and gas, power, mining and infrastructure projects for multinational developers and companies. Most of this work involves mergers and acquisitions, project finance, project development arrangements and climate change.

- Advised a Japanese sponsor on various ongoing IPP and SPP power projects in Thailand.
- Acted for the project company in a JBIC-financed oil rig project in Egypt.
- Acted for a Japanese Consortium to acquire an interest in a uranium company (mining) with assets in Kazakhstan, USA, Australia, South Africa and Canada.
- Acted for Japanese investors in more than 10 coal mine acquisitions in Australia.
- Acted for Japanese utilities on numerous long-term LNG sale and purchase Agreement from Sakhalin, NWS, Middle East, etc.
- Advised on various CDM and JI projects in relation to climate change, including biomass power project, methane capturing project, clean coal project, hydro power project, etc., in various countries including CIS, China, Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia, Poland, etc.
