Biography

Alex Dowding belongs to the Competition/Distribution practice group of Baker McKenzie in Paris.

As such, he advises and represents clients in all business sectors on all aspects of French and EU competition and distribution law. Alex regularly provides advice on the competition implications of mergers, joint ventures and other complex transactions.

Alex is also experienced in handling regulatory investigations as well as competition litigation before the competition authorities and courts. He also advises on the legal implications of the design of distribution networks as well as the negotiation and drafting of agreements implementing such selective and exclusive distribution, franchise and agency agreements. Alex is also actively involved in the preparation of compliance programs for clients.

Alex is regularly involved in cross-border distribution transactions in close coordination with other specialized lawyers throughout Europe composing the Firm's European Trade & Commerce Practice Group.

Alex likewise provides insightful counsel on the implantation of distribution networks, and assists in the negotiation and drafting of agreements implementing selective and exclusive distribution, franchise and agency agreements. He also works on antitrust and competition compliance programs and handles the merger aspects of cross-border transactions with other lawyers throughout Europe.
