In the 2012 budget delivered on 21 March 2012, the UK Government announced a package of measures aimed at increasing tax revenues from acquisitions of high value UK residential properties and discouraging the ownership of such properties through non-natural vehicles such as companies. Acquisitions and ownership of commercial property are unaffected.
