The quota for new H-1B visas for fiscal year 2011, which begins October 1, 2010, will be available as of April 1, 2010. It is important to file immediately thereafter. The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) agency will begin to accept new H-1B visa petitions no earlier than 180 days before the fiscal year begins, which means that filings will be accepted by the government on and after April 1, 2009.
